The idea
Your work starts private. Share it with the person you mean, not everyone who might get the link.
When you share an artifact, you choose who can open it. Pick the smallest group that gets the job done. What you can pick depends on your plan.
- Team and Enterprise: specific people in your organization, everyone in it, or anyone with the link.
- Pro and Max: specific people by email, which is in beta, or anyone with the link.
- Free: a link only, made with Publish. Anyone with it can view your work, no Claude account needed.
One person, not a public link
Do
Invite one named coworker. Only they can open it.
Don't
A Free-plan link for a work draft. Anyone who gets hold of the link can see it.
Share with one person
Pick something small you've made in Claude. Then follow your plan.
- Team or Enterprise: click Share, type one coworker's email, pick their name, and choose Can view.
- Pro or Max: click Share, use Invite people by email for one person, choose Can view, then Invite.
- Free: use Publish only for a non-work sample, like a packing list. The link is public.
Then let them know:
I've shared [what it is] with you in Claude. It's view-only. Could you [what you need] by [day]?
Changed your mind? Open Share again and, under Who has access, choose Only you. On Free, click Unpublish. You can't publish that artifact again, so make a new one if you need to. Older artifacts may show Publish or Share & copy link instead of Share. At work, an Owner can switch off sharing outside the company. If an option is missing, that's the likely reason.
